All of Us Exchanging Breath

If there is no other absolute proof that we are all in this life journey together, then the simple idea that we breathe the same air is that truth.

After A Night of Knowing

The sky
Meets the line of ocean.
Horizon is one,
Composed of two
Halves forming a neatly sealed
Crease, like
An envelope, bending at its

Proper fold to enclose and keep
The news within.

Which meets which?
Is it sky that kisses water,
Or is it liquid rising to create
The hermetic suck of adhesive
And eternal unity?
Which needs more?
Sky or shore?

You come to me
And
Though you try to stay away
You come to me
Again.

And I am drawn to you,
(Though this will make you laugh),
The way the ocean is drawn
To the sky, so
For a while
We form an horizon.

Who needs more?
Your sky
Or my shore?

Gravity is a heavy concept.
The natural way is for
Things to fall, as the sky falls down.
The ocean should also fall away,
But there’s no further place to go to,
And so
The waters stay,
So the sky
Can catch and hold
All it needs.
