We stand as sentinels in the rain
Facing Southeast

Spawning Minter Creek Chinook are Deathbound

My brother, Jimmy, died at 8:20 PM
At midnight we ate smoked salmon pasta from a thirty pound Minter King

Blessed, we give thanks
for these noble fish
Cleaned and smoked on a Thanksgiving table.

We burn Marty’s native tobacco grown in the Finger Lakes
We give Thanks.

We celebrate Life, aware of Death.
